Luca Labs raises seed funding with Sloboda Studio and launches expense app in 4 months

Luca Labs, a FinTech company founded by former McKinsey consultants, faced a challenge with their existing expense management app. The old application had major functional problems because it required separate maintenance for both iOS and Android platforms. They engaged Sloboda Studio to create a new, user-friendly app that would work with their existing API and be easier to maintain.

Sloboda Studio developed a new mobile application for Luca Labs Expenses using Flutter. The solution streamlined the process for employees to photograph receipts, submit them for reimbursement, and track payment status. A key technical challenge involved creating forks of certain Firebase libraries to enable server switching for testing. As a result of this successful collaboration, Luca Labs raised an undisclosed seed investment from Norway's largest financial services group, DNB, following the app's launch.
