Van Oirschot Increases Availability Whilst Inventory Value Remains Stable

Van Oirschot, a Belgian heating and ventilation wholesaler with over 50 years’ experience and a growing assortment of 120,000 SKUs (10,000 stocked), needed to guarantee next‑day delivery and high on‑shelf availability while keeping inventory investment stable. To meet these challenges they partnered with Slimstock and implemented its inventory‑optimisation software, Slim4, to improve forecasting and decide which items to stock.

Slimstock’s Slim4 enabled more accurate forecasts, exception‑based inventory management and responsive afternoon replenishment, which together raised central warehouse availability from about 96% to 98.9% and branch service levels from 95% to nearly 98%, while keeping inventory value around €10 million despite a broader assortment. The solution also sped up stock turns, reduced stockouts and saved purchasing time through better insights and automated replenishment decisions.
