Case Study: Poole Lighting achieves 33% working capital reduction with Slimstock's Slim4

A Slimstock Case Study

Preview of the Poole Lighting Case Study

Poole Lighting Reduce Working Capital By 33%

Poole Lighting, the UK’s largest domestic lighting supplier with £50m turnover, 3,000 stocked and 2,000 direct‑shipped SKUs, was struggling to manage products from 85 factories and 16‑week lead times using spreadsheets and fragmented processes. To address these capacity and availability challenges the company engaged Slimstock and deployed its Slim4 solution to bring specialist supply‑chain planning into the business.

Slimstock implemented Slim4 for integrated forecasting, DC replenishment and factory planning, using exception management to spot long‑lead items early and reconcile customer forecasts. The results were significant: working capital fell by 33%, stock turn on the top 1,000 items rose by about a third, and service levels improved by 4.5%; the project was agreed in late 2012 and fully integrated by spring 2013.
