Mymicro Increases Availability With Reduced Inventory Value

MyMicro, which includes online retailer ReplaceDirect and dealer organisation Twindis, is a specialist provider of parts and accessories for mobile electronic devices. Facing rapid growth with more than 160,000 SKUs (around 12,000 directly deliverable) and previously fragmented operations across multiple locations, MyMicro needed to optimise inventory processes and improve service levels, so they engaged Slimstock and implemented the Slim4 inventory-optimisation solution.

Slimstock deployed Slim4, trained MyMicro’s planners and provided ongoing consultancy to improve demand classification, product life-cycle management and visibility across ranges. Within months availability rose from 85% to over 90%, stock value and obsolete inventory were significantly reduced, delivery times improved and purchasing processes were standardised—results that MyMicro credits to Slimstock as it works toward a 95% availability target.
