General Óptica, a leading Spanish and Portuguese optical retailer with 280 stores (210 own stores and 70 franchises) and over 2,000 active SKUs, needed to optimise inventory, increase in‑store availability and avoid obsolescence across long supplier lead times. The retailer chose Slimstock and its Slim4 inventory planning solution to take control of replenishment, standardise purchasing and improve service to stores.
Slimstock implemented Slim4 as an automated inventory and assortment‑management tool, introducing a new purchasing policy, exception alerts, automatic substitution and monthly supplier forecasts. Within 12 months General Óptica achieved an 81.3% increase in stock turn, a 62.4% reduction in stock‑outs on top products, lower obsolescence of B/C items and improved assortment reliability, while working to cut lead times from over 4 months toward a target of 15 days.
