Fagron reduces inventory value and increases availability

Fagron Brazil, a pharmaceuticals distributor with five brands and one factory, faced major planning challenges: competing subsidiaries often ordered the same imported raw materials, lead times around 120 days, and reliance on spreadsheets led to stock-outs and excess inventory. At the Dutch holding’s request, Fagron Brazil adopted Slimstock’s advanced planning software, Slim4, to consolidate orders and improve demand planning.

Slimstock implemented Slim4 and helped set up a central planning process with monthly inventory reviews, clearer forecasts and cross-branch coordination. The result: availability rose from 79% to 94% by 2018, all units met annual inventory targets, inventories were reduced while service levels improved, and Fagron Brazil became the group’s global benchmark.
