Centralised inventory planning enables Mediq Pharmacies to provide better care

Mediq Pharmacies, a 250-store pharmacy chain in the Netherlands, wanted to improve replenishment so pharmacists could spend more time on patient care. To do that, Mediq adopted Slimstock’s inventory optimisation software, Slim4, and shifted from store-by-store ordering to a centrally managed planning model.

With Slimstock’s Slim4, Mediq streamlined forecasting and replenishment across its network, quickly adjusting stock when reimbursement rules changed and using demand history to introduce replacement brands at the right levels. The result was a 10% reduction in SKUs, a 20% drop in overall inventory, and a service-level increase of around 3–4%, all managed by just four central planners.
