CEALCO, the leading Spanish purchasing centre for heating and plumbing with 46 associates, faced irregular and geographically varied demand that made it hard to know which items and quantities to hold in a shared warehouse. To solve this, CEALCO implemented Slimstock’s Slim4 inventory optimisation and demand-forecasting software alongside its Navision ERP to anticipate demand and define appropriate stock levels across its network.

Slimstock’s Slim4 automatically identified about 3,000 references to stock, assigned service levels, calculated safety stocks and delivered management information for assortment, supplier negotiation and obsolescence control. The rollout was fast (5 days of user training) and delivered measurable results: CEALCO handled 50% more delivery note lines in year one, reduced excess stock, improved rotations and service, and maintained stock levels despite a 40% increase in turnover.
