Case Study: Arizona Nurses Association improves nurse well-being engagement with SlickText

How text messaging helped get well-being resources into the hands of nurses

The Arizona Nurses Association (AzNA), a statewide professional association of licensed nurses, needed a simple, timely way to deliver mental-health and well-being resources amid pandemic-related burnout. Email outreach suffered from poor deliverability and low open rates, so AzNA adopted SlickText’s text messaging platform to send short, direct messages nurses would actually see.

Using SlickText, AzNA converted newsletter content into nurse-designed, high-value texts sent every few days—brief affirmations, links, and well-being resources—producing strong engagement: 83.39% of nurses found the texts useful and 47.96% incorporated the resources into their daily lives. Feedback was largely positive, many nurses encouraged others to sign up, and the campaign’s success led the American Nurses Foundation to plan a national rollout.
