Barcast, a full-service digital marketing provider for bars and liquor stores, needed to pivot during the COVID-19 pandemic to engage shoppers at liquor stores, maximize a small team’s time, and collect first-party data to prove engagement. To meet those challenges, Barcast partnered with SlickText and adopted SlickText’s automated texting platform and Workflows to build a low-friction mobile ecosystem.
Using SlickText, Barcast placed in-store ads instructing buyers to text receipt photos for rebates, verified eligibility via text, delivered payouts by check or Venmo, and automated targeted coupon workflows for bar patrons. The results: rebate redemption jumped from about 2–3% to 15–20%, users now submit an average of 1.5 rebates monthly, the automated user journey conserved team resources, and the rebate product became the fastest-growing element of Barcast’s client pitches as they plan wider rollout.
