ZEiTECS Shuttle System Saves USD 95,000 and 5 Days of Deferred Production to Replace ESP

SLB worked with an Ecuador based operating company that needed to replace a failed ESP quickly while minimizing workover cost, deferred production, and HSE risk. To address this challenge, SLB used the ZEiTECS Shuttle rigless ESP replacement system, designed to simplify ESP replacement in the well.

SLB completed the intervention with a coiled tubing unit instead of a conventional workover rig, pulling the old ESP and running the new REDA ESP into the docking station in one integrated operation. The replacement took 47 hours versus at least 7 days for a conventional job, saved about USD 95,000 in workover costs, avoided more than 5 days of deferred production, and reduced crew size from 40 people to 12 with no operational or HSE issues.
