Well Integrity Management Program Optimizes Equipment and Well Life

SLB worked with a major operating company in Bass Strait that needed to maintain long-term well integrity across aging offshore assets, but lacked complete and accessible wellhead equipment information for workovers and maintenance. The customer wanted to protect production while upholding safety and environmental goals across its 19-platform development.

SLB, through Cameron equipment and data management services, implemented a comprehensive well integrity program that surveyed about 380 wells, traced roughly 98% of equipment back to OEM documentation, created wellhead manuals for each well, and upgraded refurbishment and maintenance practices. As a result, engineering time was reduced, safety and confidence in offshore wellhead equipment improved, rig downtime from incomplete or incorrect data decreased, and system uptime increased through better asset and performance management.
