UK North Sea Operator boosts subsea output above preshut-in levels with SLB

A UK North Sea operator faced the challenge of reactivating a long-term shut-in subsea well while addressing well integrity issues and mitigating near-wellbore formation damage caused by scale buildup. Their goal was to restore production to preshut-in levels. To overcome this, they engaged SLB.

SLB implemented a comprehensive solution using their Intervention Advisor method for planning, alongside advanced perforation techniques including the PURE clean perforations system, PowerJet Nova shaped charges, and a P3 postperforating treatment. The intervention was executed from a light well intervention vessel. The results exceeded expectations, with stabilized flow rates significantly higher than preshut-in levels. This success restored the well’s productivity, maximized economic recovery for the asset, and demonstrated the value of SLB's integrated approach.
