SLB worked with an offshore Malaysia operating company that needed to log a deep cased well with a 79° deviation and a complex 3½-in completion profile containing five gas lift mandrels. The challenge was to obtain reliable formation evaluation in a slim, highly deviated well where conveyance was difficult.

SLB deployed its 2⅜-in TuffTRAC iX extreme-performance wireline tractor together with Pulsar multifunction spectroscopy service to complete the cased-hole evaluation in a single run. The tractor continuously conveyed the tools for 9,519 m over five nonstop days without any HSE or service quality incidents, and the high-quality logs helped the operator identify additional producible zones and gain incremental production.
