Shaya Project Saves USD 2.5 Million on Workovers by Eliminating ESP Changes in a Mature Field, Ecuador

Shaya Project worked with SLB to address declining production and high workover costs in a mature Ecuadorian field where conventional ESPs were lasting only about 200 days. The company needed a pumping solution that could handle abrasive solids, gas, high temperatures, and wide swings in flow as it ramped up a new waterflood project.

SLB deployed REDA Continuum extended-life ESP pumps with Lift IQ real-time surveillance and optimization across 65 wells. The solution maintained pump efficiency through large production variations, increased average run life to more than 600 days, improved field production by an average of 16%, and helped Shaya Project avoid workovers and deferred production worth USD 2.5 million.
