Reperforating on TuffTRAC Tractor Increases Injectivity up to 300%

SLB worked with Cook Inlet Natural Gas Storage Alaska (CINGSA), which had five horizontal natural gas storage wells in the Kenai gas field performing below expectations after highly overbalanced TCP perforations. The company needed to remediate the injector wells by reperforating at balanced pressure to reduce perforation damage and improve injectivity.

SLB used TuffTRAC cased hole tractor services to convey PowerJet Omega deep penetrating perforating shaped charges into the horizontal wells. The project included 66 trouble-free tractor descents totaling 47,132 ft and 1,790 ft of guns, and it increased injection rates by 50% to 300% across the four wells that were remediated, with no tool failures reported.
