Real-Time CT Tool Saves 22 Hours of Rig Time During Production Testing Operations Ecuador

SLB worked with an Ecuador Based Operating Company that needed a faster, more reliable way to evaluate a well in real time and reduce rig time. The company was struggling with traditional production testing methods that relied on memory gauges and hydraulic jet pumping, which created downhole uncertainty and delayed decisions.

SLB deployed the ACTive PTC CT real-time pressure, temperature, and casing collar locator tool, along with the ACTive TC CT real-time tension and compression tool, to monitor downhole conditions during testing. The operator completed the well production evaluation and pressure buildup test in 17 hours without a workover rig, identified crossflow behind the casing, and avoided at least two additional days of rig costs.
