RapidX TAML 5 Multilateral Junction Used with Rod Pump Optimizes Recovery in Low-Production Oil Field

SLB worked with China Operating Company, which needed an efficient, economical way to produce a low-yield oil field in a highly populated area of China while meeting long-term production targets. The operator also needed a completion approach that could support rod pump operations, allow easy future intervention, and help manage water-cut risk.

SLB recommended a RapidX TAML 5 interlocking-rail, stackable multilateral junction with a rod pump completion. The well was successfully installed with no injuries or nonproductive time, and the operator achieved higher production with reduced water cut versus nearby wells. The result validated SLB’s multilateral design as a viable option for future low-production wells and improved confidence that it could optimize return on investment.
