PURE Perforating System Doubles Productivity in Offshore Wells

SLB worked with a large Brazil Oil Producing Company that wanted to maximize oil productivity from four producing zones in an offshore Malaysia field. The company was facing high decline rates and high completion skin in offset wells, so it needed a way to extend the economic life of the field and improve reservoir connectivity.

SLB used the PURE clean perforations system, along with perforating analysis and deep-penetrating charges, to create a dynamic underbalance and leave cleaner perforations. The four zones totaling 79 ft of net pay were brought online at a steady-state rate of 2,200 bbl/d, nearly double the expected rate, with a payback period of just 7 days and an estimated incremental value of USD 2.1 million per month.
