PressureXpress-HT Service's Pretesting Provides Pressure Profile at Temperatures Above 320 degF

SLB worked with a major operating company in the Gulf of Thailand that needed accurate reservoir pressure measurements to determine the pressure gradient in high-temperature wells with low-permeability formations. Conventional formation tester tools were affected by thermal effects, making it difficult to get reliable pressure data for selecting perforation intervals.

SLB used the PressureXpress-HT high-temperature reservoir pressure service to perform pretests at multiple depths with precise control of pretest volume and rate. The service delivered accurate pressure and mobility measurements at bottomhole temperatures above 320 degF, enabled construction of a valid pressure gradient, and definitively identified the fluid contact for better perforation targeting.
