PHSS Uses Digital Ecosystem to Assure Wellsite Operations Despite Logistic Challenges

PERTAMINA Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) needed to continue directional drilling and MWD operations in Indonesia during COVID-19 while travel restrictions made crew mobilization difficult and threatened operational continuity on three land rigs. SLB proposed its Performance Live digitally connected service to help PHSS avoid disruption and keep wellsite operations running.

Using SLB’s Performance Live service, PHSS completed five runs across rigs PDSI-52, PDSI-54, and EMR-01 with zero HSE or service quality incidents. The solution reduced crew sizes by 40% from the standard configuration and cut carbon footprint by up to 50% on each rig, while improving digital connectivity and lowering mobilization and travel risk.
