Orion Energy Optimizes Field Development Planning of Mira Field

Orion Energy worked with SLB to improve field development planning for the Mira Field in the Oriente Basin of Ecuador. The company needed a faster, more collaborative way to evaluate field economics and investment options, since its previous spreadsheet-based process made it difficult to quickly assess production opportunities and uncertainty.

SLB recommended the cloud-based FDPlan agile field development planning solution to streamline scenario analysis, track deliverables, and support collaborative decision making. With FDPlan, Orion Energy reduced the time spent evaluating field economics, improved its understanding of structural dips and oil/water contact, and used the clearer risk assessment to expand its drilling campaign and production facilities.
