Optimized ESP Solution Reduces NPT >88% in Liquid-Loading Horizontal Gas Well, Russia

SLB worked with ESP Solution Company to address a horizontal gas well in Siberia that was suffering from severe liquid loading. The well would produce for about a week before accumulated liquids killed production for roughly three weeks, and the operator needed a reliable way to remove liquids and stabilize gas flow into the pipeline.

SLB proposed a REDA Maximus ESP system equipped with REDA Continuum unconventional extended-life ESP stages and monitored through the Lift IQ production life cycle management service. With support from remote monitoring and control, the system handled high gas volume fractions and variable flow, reducing well-unloading interruptions from 3 weeks to just 3–5 hours two or three times a week, an improvement of more than 88%.
