Operator Saves Rig Time During High-Pressure GOM Perforating Run by Using Remote Dual Valve

SLB worked with a Gulf of Mexico based operating company that needed to confirm the integrity of coated IPC test stands while maintaining well control during a tubing-conveyed perforating run in an ultrahigh-pressure environment. The company wanted to avoid an extra flex-trip run, but conventional tools could not support the required pressure testing while keeping the multicycle tester and circulating valves in the string.

SLB proposed the IRDV intelligent remote dual valve, which combines a tester valve and a circulating valve in one tool and can be cycled independently or sequentially. Using this solution, the operator perforated the well, pressure tested the string to 28,400 psi, and reversed out the workstring volume in a single run, eliminating the flex trip and saving rig time and associated costs.
