Case Study: Indonesia Offshore Operator Company boosts production and cuts costs with SLB completions technology

A SLB Case Study

Preview of the Indonesia Offshore Operator Company Case Study

Operator Increases Oil Production, Saves Time, and Cuts Costs by USD 422,000 Offshore Indonesia

SLB helped the Indonesia Offshore Operator Company address an unconsolidated reservoir offshore Indonesia with a tight fracture-to-pore pressure window, where the risk of fluid loss, formation damage, and sand production threatened completion and production performance. The company needed a completion approach that could protect the formation while allowing efficient oil production.

SLB implemented a gravel-pack completion using the FIV-II formation isolation valve, MeshRite stainless steel wool screens, and MudSOLV filtercake removal service. This combination enabled safer completion execution, cleaner wellbore conditions, and improved flow capacity, allowing the well to be completed faster than previous sand-screen-only wells while boosting production and reducing rig-related risks and costs. The operator estimated total operating savings at about USD 422,000.
