A SLB Case Study
SLB worked with a southern Mexico based operating company that needed to achieve stable production in a high-temperature limestone reservoir while minimizing treatment time and costs. The well was nonflowing, had a naturally fractured carbonate formation, and required stimulation to improve productivity under difficult high-temperature conditions.
SLB recommended and applied its chelant-base NARS treating fluid, along with a degradable diversion acid system, to improve wormholing efficiency and reduce treating volume. The treated well cleaned up in 2 days instead of 10, reduced cleanup time by 8 days, cut treating fluid volume by 69%, and boosted oil production from about 300 bbl/d to 994 bbl/d, a 231% increase.
