SLB worked with Western Australia Deepwater Drilling Company to address the challenge of continuously mapping a highly faulted reservoir in real time while steering long horizontal wells for maximum exposure in thin oil columns. The company needed to delineate layers, update its geological and reservoir model, and keep the wellbore within target sands in a complex offshore Western Australia field.

SLB deployed the GeoSphere reservoir mapping-while-drilling service to steer two horizontal wells using real-time reservoir mapping and deep electromagnetic measurements.
