OpenPath Stimulation Services Increase Production 250% in Long, Hot Well with Slotted Liner

SLB worked with a Kazakhstan Based Operating Company to stimulate production from a long, hot 335-m interval in a naturally fractured carbonate reservoir. The well was completed with a slotted liner, and the operator needed to improve economics without plugging the liner or limiting acid penetration.

SLB designed and delivered an engineered treatment using OpenPath Reach extended-contact stimulation service and OpenPath Sequence diversion stimulation service, including a retarded acid system and composite pills that could pass through the slotted liner. The operation restored well performance and increased production from 20 to 70 m3/d, a 250% gain and above the well’s initial output.
