A SLB Case Study
SLB worked with a leading North Sea oil wells company that needed to chemically treat a 200-ft perforated subsea oil well to reduce scale deposition risks caused by waterflooding. The company’s heterogeneous formation and aging perforations made it difficult to achieve uniform coverage, and conventional diversion methods were no longer effective.
SLB used its OpenPath Sequence diversion stimulation service to apply antiscale chemicals with engineered fiber-and-particle diversion pills across the full perforated interval. The treatment delivered clearer diversion and more uniform coverage, with an average 25% increase in treating pressure across each diversion stage and a final bottomhole pressure of 4,550 psi, indicating complete wellbore coverage.
