A SLB Case Study
SLB worked with a large CT operating company to address the risks and economics of subsea interventions in the Gulf of Mexico. The company needed to extend well life and improve serviceability in deepwater wells with pressures up to 9,950 psi and depths often beyond 20,000 ft, while keeping operations safe and cost-effective.
SLB, through Coil Tubing Services, used advanced coiled tubing technology and extensive deepwater experience on the Q4000 vessel to support live-well interventions, sand cleanouts, fish retrieval, flowline cleanouts, and slurry set operations. The program delivered more than 1,900 reliable through-tubing well operations over 10 years across 330 deepwater interventions for 24 producers, while also setting multiple records, including the deepest CT intervention at 28,950 ft and the deepest sand cleanout and fish retrieval at 28,100 ft.
