NARS Treating Fluid Removes Damage from Dolomitic Reservoir to Gain Additional 450 bbl/d

SLB worked with a leading oil production company in Mexico to improve oil output from a high-temperature dolomitic reservoir with widely varying matrix permeability. The company needed better stimulation while dealing with challenges such as acid placement, tubular corrosion, water breakthrough, and formation damage in a deep, naturally fractured dolomitic-limestone formation.

SLB recommended a combination of CLEAN SWEEP solvent systems and chelant-base NARS treating fluid to remove damage and improve stimulation efficiency. The treatment reduced skin from 2.2 to 0, increased production from 1,388 bbl/d to 1,840 bbl/d, avoided any increase in water cut, and cut cleanup time by 3 days, saving an estimated USD 500,000 in deferred production costs.
