A SLB Case Study
SLB worked with a leading oil and gas operating company that needed a safer, faster, cleaner alternative to conventional frac iron for hydraulic fracturing. The operator wanted to reduce the time, hazards, and clutter associated with connecting frac manifolds to frac trees across multiwell pads.
SLB piloted its Monoline flanged-connection fracturing fluid delivery technology in the Eagle Ford Shale and British Columbia, using preassembled high-pressure pipe segments with 90° elbows and swivel flanges. The solution reduced rig-up and rig-down time by 70%, cut connector counts by up to 75%, simplified hookup, minimized leak paths, eliminated temporary pipework and mismatched equipment, and reduced the wellsite footprint, while a four-person crew installed and removed the system in about 9 hours per pad with no recorded issues in Canada.
