MaxPull System Pulls >29,300 lbf to Free Stuck Tester, Saving USD 3,050,000

SLB worked with a Gulf of Mexico Based Operating Company that needed to efficiently run a logging program in a highly tortuous deepwater well. Conventional drillpipe logging was considered because planned runs had extreme normal logging tensions of up to 20,900 lbf, but that approach would have been time-consuming and costly.

SLB addressed the challenge by conveying the logging toolstrings on the MaxPull 30000 high-pull wireline conveyance system with TuffLINE 30000 composite cable, enabling multiple pull cycles at up to 30,000 lbf. During the run, the toolstring stuck after an extended sampling station, and a pull of more than 29,300 lbf freed it, avoiding a 4-day fishing job and saving USD 3,050,000 while preserving valuable reservoir fluid and pressure data.
