Logging Tools Tractor Conveyed 10,700 m in 3½-in ERD Completion to Identify Water Inflow

SLB helped Offshore Sakhalin Island Operating Company address water inflow behind tubing in an extended-reach offshore well near Sakhalin Island. The company needed to log a 10,700 m well with a slim 3½-in completion and multiple restrictions to determine the source of the inflow and support future workovers and new well design.

SLB used the four-drive TuffTRAC iX cased hole services tractor to convey Pulsar multifunction spectroscopy and WFL water flow logging tools through the well. The tractor navigated the restrictions in a single run, reached target depth, and cut conveyance time by 80% versus conventional tractors, while the logs clearly identified the water inflow source over the 1,500 m interval.
