LLOG Evaluates Cement and Casing Integrity for Multiple Casings in a Single Descent

LLOG Exploration Co., LLC worked with SLB to improve cement and casing integrity evaluation in a deepwater Gulf of Mexico well with three casing sizes across a dual-zone completion. The challenge was to verify cement quality and casing integrity across 7⅝-, 9⅞-, 11⅞-, and 13⅝-in casings while minimizing rig flat time and avoiding multiple wireline descents.

SLB deployed its PowerFlex annular barrier evaluation service to perform cement evaluation and casing inspection in a single wireline run, using ultrasonic measurements across multiple casing strings and additional logging for the surface casing. The approach satisfied regulatory requirements, delivered high-quality cement and casing integrity data, and saved 12 hours of rig time, while also providing a fast turnaround of field answers in 2 hours or less.
