LIVE Act Services Enable Successful Retrieval of More Than 3,000 ft of E-Line Cable in Two Wells

SLB worked with Saudi Arabia Operating Company, the operator of a satellite platform in the Mediterranean Sea, after production was shut in because of poor well flow. The wells needed reperforating with strict depth control, but the platform’s 4.5-metric-ton crane limit ruled out a conventional electric line package, and a memory-only system was not acceptable because the zones were close to sensitive completion components.

SLB used LIVE Perf digital slickline services with eFire electronic firing heads and the Enerjet expendable strip gun system to enable two-way telemetry, real-time depth correlation, and controlled firing on a lightweight slickline package. The team completed 12 reperforating runs on two wells, restored production to 3,700 bbl/d of oil, and achieved immediate downhole shot indication and accurate gamma ray/CCL correlation during the operation.
