Lime Rock Resources Saves USD 500,000 After Preventing Frac Hits Among Parent-Child Wells

Lime Rock Resources worked with SLB in the Williston Basin, North Dakota, to address the risk of frac hits between parent and infill wells during multiwell completions. The company wanted to protect parent-well production, avoid sanding, and reduce the chance of costly cleanup work while still maximizing infill-well performance.

SLB deployed a combination of BroadBand Shield fracture-geometry control, BroadBand Sequence fracturing, and WellWatcher Stim monitoring services to manage fracture growth and detect communication in real time. The approach prevented sanding in the parent wells, avoided an estimated USD 500,000 in cleanup costs, and improved results across the field, including an average 118% increase in parent-well oil production after stimulation treatment.
