A SLB Case Study
SLB worked with Lime Rock Resources to stimulate two infill wells in North Dakota without sanding up or significantly reducing oil production in the existing parent well between them. The challenge was especially risky because the parent well had a damaged liner and a fish behind the liner, making any frac hit or cleanout potentially costly and disruptive.
SLB recommended BroadBand Sequence fracturing, BroadBand Shield fracture-geometry control, and WellWatcher Stim monitoring to manage fracture growth and track pressure communication in real time. The approach eliminated pressure communication in stages treated with BroadBand Shield, avoided any sand cleanout in the parent well, boosted parent-well oil production by 150%, and delivered 66% more cumulative oil equivalent from the infill wells over the first 11 months after stimulation.
