LiftWatcher service helps preserve ESP integrity to avoid costly well intervention operation

Trinity Exploration & Production worked with SLB after an unexpected shutdown in a Trintes field well created a high risk of electrical or mechanical failure in the ESP during restart attempts. The well had high gas presence, and sand and solids were plugging the pump, driving up motor temperature and startup amperage and causing the breaker to trip.

SLB used its LiftWatcher real-time surveillance service with support from the Artificial Lift Surveillance Center team to monitor the ESP, verify electrical integrity, adjust protection settings, and recommend startup actions such as boost voltage and fluid circulation. The well restarted successfully with no failures or well intervention, preserving ESP integrity and avoiding an estimated USD 170,000 intervention cost.
