KOC Accurately Tests Wells with Challenging Multiphase Flow Using Diligens Spectra Unit
Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) needed to accurately test wells with very low production, slug flow, and strong emulsions that made conventional multiphase flowmeter testing unreliable. SLB addressed the challenge with the Diligens Spectra mobile multiphase production testing unit, using its Vx Spectra surface multiphase flowmeters to expand the operating envelope and improve metrology.
With SLB’s Diligens Spectra unit, KOC was able to test previously untestable wells and obtain repeatable, representative flow measurements under difficult conditions. The dual-leg setup helped maximize the number of accurate well tests in a given time, supporting production allocation and well optimization with minimal backpressure and accurate measurements across low-flow and emulsion-affected periods.
