Intervention Mill and Thru-Tubing Turbodrill Deployed to Restore Interval Access in Pakistan

SLB helped a leading gas producing company in Pakistan address a buildup of hard scale that had blocked access to a perforated interval in a gas well. The scale on the 4½-in production liner was restricting production, and earlier attempts to remove it with high-pressure jetting nozzles had failed.

SLB recommended the i-MILL TT intervention mill powered by a Neyrfor TTT thru-tubing turbodrill to mill out the hard scale under harsh downhole conditions. Using the system on coiled tubing, the operator removed 206 ft of scale in a single trip with an average rate of penetration of 0.7 ft/min, restoring access to the perforated interval and helping recover production.
