Integrated Stimulation Strategy Identifies Savings of USD 734,000 Per Well in the Wolfbone Play
Endeavor Energy worked with SLB to better understand the spatial variability of its Wolfbone wells and identify the most productive targets for horizontal field development. The challenge was to improve completion decisions in a highly heterogeneous interval while keeping costs under control, using advanced reservoir characterization and stimulation design tools.
SLB incorporated reservoir data into Mangrove stimulation design software and applied the HiWAY flow-channel hydraulic fracturing technique across nine wells. The approach improved pay zone contact, increased initial oil production by 60% versus offset horizontal wells, used 6% less fluid and 30% less proppant per stage, and identified savings of USD 734,000 per well. Based on these results, Endeavor Energy converted all stimulation treatments from conventional systems to HiWAY channel fracturing.
