Integrated Seismic Solution Delivers Unparalleled Imaging of Complex Strata for Crescent Petroleum

SLB worked with Crescent Petroleum to image deep carbonate reservoirs in a complex thrust-belt geology in the United Arab Emirates. The challenge was that steep dips, strong velocity heterogeneity, and difficult near-surface conditions made conventional seismic imaging ineffective.

SLB implemented an integrated seismic solution using the UniQ high-density 3D land acquisition system, managed spread/simultaneous source acquisition, surface-wave analysis, TTI reverse time migration, and depth imaging. The approach improved survey efficiency, with daily production peaking at more than 10,000 vibrator points per day and recording duration and cost reduced, while revealing subsurface detail that had never previously been imaged in the over-thrust zone.
