A SLB Case Study
SLB worked with a major gas producer in China’s Ordos Basin to improve hydraulic fracturing efficiency in a tight sand formation. The customer needed to maximize multistage stimulation performance in a 4.5-in cased horizontal well while dealing with lateral heterogeneity and high rock stiffness.
SLB combined its plug-and-perf system with the Salik local-sand-enabled flow-channel fracturing service. The integrated approach increased operating efficiency by 112%, cut proppant costs by USD 95,000, eliminated CT milling runs, and delivered superior early production, with 16 stages completed in 4.5 days and a 21.4% flowback ratio confirming improved fracture conductivity.
