Integrated Debris Removal and Casing Cleaning Tools Recover 70.5 lbm of Debris and Eliminate Additional NPT

SLB helped a leading Saudi Arabia equipment company address debris left in a wellbore that had already failed two conventional cleanout attempts. The customer needed a reliable cleanup method to support future horizontal multilateral drilling, well completion, and production, but prior runs left debris behind and caused the string to tag high in the well.

SLB designed and ran an integrated cleanup string using a MAGNOSTAR high-capacity magnet, a JUNK MUNCHER wellbore cleanup tool, and a HEAVY-DUTY RAZOR BACK advanced casing cleaning tool. The solution recovered 71.6 lbm of debris in one run, eliminated additional nonproductive time, and avoided an unplanned mechanical sidetrack, saving the customer rig costs after 149 hours of NPT had already been incurred on earlier failed attempts.
