A SLB Case Study
Wintershall Dea AG needed to efficiently migrate Statoil’s Vega field database and integrate it with its existing internal data in a live Studio E&P knowledge environment as it took over operatorship of the field in Norway. The challenge was to bring together well, seismic, log, and interpretation data from different sources into one operational dataset that met Wintershall’s standards.
SLB used its proprietary data migration tools and Studio information management services to assess, design, and implement the transfer. SLB delivered a unified dataset in Wintershall’s live Studio environment within 20 days, including 51 3D seismic cubes, 15 wells, 892 log curves, 85 3D horizons, 372 faults, and 19 surfaces, successfully meeting the required criteria for the project.
