Geoengineered, Integrated Well Program Improves Oil Production by 80%–86%

SLB worked with Lonestar Resources Ltd. in the Eagle Ford Shale to improve oil production and field economics across long laterals. Lonestar needed to optimize drilling, completion, and stimulation plans while avoiding problems caused by ash beds, faults, and nearby water-bearing zones, and it wanted a better way to manage these risks without hurting economics.

SLB implemented a geoengineered integrated well program using ThruBit through-the-bit logging services, Kinetix Shale reservoir-centric software, and Broadband Sequence fracturing service. By iterating completion and stimulation designs and using diversion to better stimulate long intervals, the program increased production by 80% in one field and 86% in another compared with offset wells, with engineered wells producing 80% more hydrocarbon per 1,000 ft of lateral on average.
