FC Fast Connect HT Wellhead System Saves PetroMiranda USD 1.2 Million in One Year in Heavy Oil Field

PetroMiranda worked with SLB to address the needs of its heavy oil wells in Venezuela, where high temperatures, corrosive environments, and the need to optimize rig time made wellhead selection critical. The company also wanted to eliminate expansion joints while supporting thermal recovery operations such as SAGD, steam flooding, cyclic steam injection, and electric downhole cable heating.

SLB engineered the FC fast-connect HT wellhead system for PetroMiranda, rated to 650 degF and designed to absorb tubing elongation internally without expansion joints. The system cut wellhead installation time by 67% to 8 hours instead of 24, saving about USD 1.2 million annually, shortened completion time by up to 50%, and helped PetroMiranda achieve accelerated production of about 2,400 bbl/day with zero incidents to date.
