Engineered Hydraulic Stimulation Increases 60-Day Oil Production by More Than 25,000 bbl

ORNCEM worked with SLB to reverse declining oil production in Well 258D in the Upper Hollin sand at the Sacha field in Ecuador. The well had stabilized and then steadily declined to about 180 bbl/d, so the company needed an effective hydraulic fracturing approach to restore output.

SLB used detailed reservoir and well analysis, FracCADE design software, OneSTEP sandstone stimulation technology, ceramic proppant, and a tip-screenout fracture treatment to optimize the stimulation job. Production quickly jumped to more than 600 bbl/d and stabilized at 575 bbl/d, with more than 25,000 bbl of incremental oil produced in the first 60 days and payback achieved in less than one week.
