Case Study: New York Pipeline Company improves mud recovery with SLB's DURAFLO D500-C screens

A SLB Case Study

Preview of the New York Pipeline Company Case Study

DURAFLO Composite Replacement Screen Processes 570% More Mud Compared with Conventional Screen

New York Pipeline Company needed to improve fluid capacity and mud recovery during a pipeline boring project in New York City. SLB helped address the challenge by evaluating performance on Derrick FLC 500 Series shakers using the DURAFLO D500-C composite replacement screen versus the original OEM corrugated screen.

SLB’s side-by-side testing showed that the DURAFLO D500-C screen processed 570% more mud, handled finer material, and allowed the flowline valves to be opened further without overwhelming the shakers. After replacing all OEM screens with DURAFLO D500-C screens, the operator could run both valves at 100%, maintain 120 ft/h ROP, and eliminate time lost to limited shaker handling capacity.
